Back in Pozega

I am back in Pozega on Friday night, I am invited to a concert of local punk rockers, High school I think, by the daughter of the poet I shared the stage with on my 2nd gig in this town. She is totally counter culture, as is her family. Artists, writers, etc. in a town known for it's nationalism. I am very interested in how the youth reject the fascist tendencies of the distant, and recent past. "We don't have much opportunity to do things here" she says to me. Friends, all chain smoking, listen with out contradiction, with out comment. They don't understand why I left the States.

"If I lived there I would never leave"...

Reasons are varied, but the feeling is the same.
